My personal philosophy of counseling begins and ends with grace and a willingness to enter into an individual's experience alongside them. I entered this field because I feel that I have an authentic listening heart that desires to see people live as whole, healthy individuals. I have a passion for issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and marriage & family. I believe that each person is a unique individual who is capable of self-awareness, freedom of choice, responsibilities, and the search for value and meaning in life. As a counselor, I desire to facilitate the process of a client solving their personal problems while also demonstrating a genuine concern and compassion for their dilemmas.

Katherine's specialties and experience in counseling include depression, anxiety, childhood and adult trauma, attachment and relational trauma, parent/child conflicts, and grief. Katherine is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Her multicultural background enables her to have a unique perspective and understanding on struggles experienced by clients from different cultures. Katherine has had great success working with teens and adults of all ages and life stages. Katherine has experience working with Hopes Door New Beginning Center and LifePath Systems.
